COURSE DESCRIPTION
Module 9 of the Traditional Medicine Clinical Practice Certification (TMCPC) Program emphasizes ETHICS AND PRACTICE MANAGEMENT. It covers legal standards in the practice of Eastern medicine via telehealth, focusing on healthcare laws relevant to telehealth, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. This class covers topics such as telehealth logistics, including the selection of telehealth software vendors, telehealth etiquette, and billing for telehealth services. Eastern medicine practice standards, including TCM modalities for telehealth delivery and telehealth documentation specifics, will be discussed in detail. This class will develop HISTORY TAKING and PHYSICAL EXAMINATION competency specific to telehealth, including collection of the objective signs accordingly to the best practice standards. This class will provide an introduction to FORMULATING AND IMPLEMENTING PLANS FOR INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT competencies, including an overview of sources of ongoing professional development, education, and research, both classical and contemporary, and emerging technology systems for information access and management.
This module emphasizes PRACTICE MANAGEMENT. It covers standards for clinical practice in traditional medicine, with a focus on office functionality and customer care. Scheduling, healthcare records management, patient communication, and informed consent will be discussed, with an emphasis on compliance and safety. Multiple office form templates will be discussed in detail. Learners will master ethical professional conduct, risk management, and quality assurance programs. Templates of the associated forms and clinic policies will be reviewed.
