COURSE DESCRIPTION

Module 10 of the Traditional Medicine Clinical Practice Certification (TMCPC) Program emphasizes PRACTICE MANAGEMENT competencies. It covers standards for clinical practice in traditional medicine, focusing on practice setup and employment options, professional conduct, malpractice and liability insurance, OSHA compliance, professional development, and other applicable standards to improve practice management. Key topics include business setup, office organization, developing a support team, marketing, and pathways to success. Students will master the requirements of risk management and quality assurance programs. It also addresses the closure of practices. This class will reinforce the development of practice policies and procedures, including the Office Policies & Procedures Manual, the HIPAA Privacy & Security Manual, the Red Book, the Emergency Response Manual, the Employee Handbook, and the Clinic Procedures Manual for private offices and multi-disciplinary settings. Templates of the associated forms and policies will be reviewed. Overall, this module aims to ensure acupuncturists are well-equipped to manage their practices effectively and comply with regulations.
