COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course aims to equip acupuncture college instructors and clinic supervisors with knowledge of modern acupuncture and herbal medicine practice guidelines that adhere to U.S. rules and regulations. The focus of the course is on clinical documentation within current EHR systems, following CMS 2021 requirements. It will cover the current ICD-10 and upcoming ICD-11 Chapter 26 Traditional Medicine standard terminology coding guidelines in detail, based on the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting. Emphasis will be placed on legal language and FDA-compliant terminology. The course will introduce the importance of preventing, capturing, and mitigating adverse events. It will also cover the Traditional Medicine care standards necessary to avoid negligence and billing fraud, in accordance with U.S. healthcare laws. Practical skills for effective student supervision, with an emphasis on graduate gainful employment, will be reinforced.
