COURSE DESCRIPTION
Module 9 covers ethical and legal standards for the practice of Eastern medicine via telehealth, with a focus on telehealth etiquette, professional conduct, informed consent, risk management, quality assurance programs, and customer care in the era of EHRs. Learn Eastern medicine practice standards, including TCM modalities suitable for telehealth delivery and telehealth documentation specifics. This class will develop competency in history-taking and physical examination specific to telehealth, including the collection of objective signs according to best-practice standards. This class will provide an overview of sources for ongoing professional development, education, research, and emerging technology systems. Templates for the associated forms and clinic policies will be reviewed.

- Discuss the Telehealth Position in the United States Healthcare, Including Laws, Rules, and Regulations Specific to Acupuncturists
- Discuss Telehealth HIPAA Compliance and TCM Telehealth Etiquette
- Demonstrate Knowledge of the Ethical History-Taking and Physical Examination Specific to Telehealth Practice Standards
- Demonstrate Knowledge of the Electronic Health Records (EHR), including Provider Documentation, Office Healthcare Records, and Patient Portal Necessary Features
- Reinforce Informed Consent Specific to Telehealth and Other Health Record Forms
